In my spare time, you can find me snowboarding in the mountains with my children, hiking, mountain biking, and climbing.

  • Monash University - Masters in Counseling (Child, Family, Marriage Therapy)

  • Metropolitan State University - Psychology, Elementary Teacher Licensure (K-6)

Education Through Connection

My interest in child development began when I was a young girl. My mother provided care for infants, toddlers, and school aged children. Being surrounded by babies and toddlers on a daily basis, I discovered I could connect with them easily.

While completing my undergraduate degree in psychology and working as a nanny, my passion for child psychology catapulted. Throughout my teaching career in Colorado, China, and Hong Kong, I felt inspired by young children and teenagers from all over the world. The privilege of living abroad for eight years while teaching at international schools allowed me to understand what all children need no matter their ethnicity or country of origin, a connection with others.

After completing my masters in counseling, I began working with families in a therapy setting. I continued to grow as a mental health counselor and child advocate. Through in-home therapy, parent coaching, and Montessori training, my passion for child development continued to evolve. While pregnant with my first child, I began an in-depth study of the Montessori method. Early in my research, it was clear to me the Montessori method was the philosophy I wanted to use as a guide with my own children. It aligned with the child's natural physical and mental development and was also a respectful way of parenting, coinciding with highly regarded Dr Emmi Pikler's principles on child / parent relationships. Once residing back stateside with two toddlers of my own and wanting to maximize my time with them, opening a Montessori preschool seemed the natural next step to combine my love for Montessori and child psychology skill set.

I am dedicated to providing a mutually respectful and educational environment for toddlers to continue their development into kind and independent problem-solvers. I will teach them not only to care for themselves but also each other. I am committed to doing my part in creating a world where children are valued and respected from birth, and given the space they need to grow at their own pace. Imagine a world where toddlers are taught they can think for themselves, their feelings matter, they are valued and respected, and experience a genuine connection with others. How different would our world look when they are adults?

I am Ms Jenn

Hello! I'm Jenn, and I couldn't be more excited to assist Ms Amy at MEM. This role marks a fantastic new opportunity for me, and I feel really lucky to connect with your kids in this wonderful environment. I recently retired from my career as a Respiratory Practitioner in a critical care hospital. I am passionate about helping people of all ages.

I'm married and have a 14-year-old child who's about to start his Freshman year at Cherry Creek High School. My son has been in Montessori education since preschool, and I've been very involved as a room mom, volunteer, and substitute teacher. I truly believe in the value of Montessori education and have seen its benefits firsthand for my own child. My son is currently learning to fly an airplane and hopes to have a pilot's license when he turns 16.

When I'm not working, you'll find me hanging out with my dogs Duncan and Dora (I'm a huge dog lover!), enjoying outdoor adventures, tending to my garden, cheering on the Broncos, Nuggets, or the WNBA, and attending concerts!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

I am Ms Kate

I am the Admissions Coordinator here at MEM, and I love it! I joined Ms Amy a little over one year ago.

I started my career in Montessori in 2009 when I began subbing for a local Montessori school in New England. The philosophy had me hooked immediately, I couldn't imagine a more optimal place for children to learn and grow. I went on to handle this school's marketing and communications for several years, and then decided I wanted to get trained and teach. I taught for 7 years in a Primary classroom (at the same amazing school), and cherished every moment. After those 7 years, I moved to Denver and met Ms Amy when my niece enrolled in her program.

Outside of Montessori, I enjoying traveling, spending time with my family and better half, cooking, and most recently, trying to get the hang of fly fishing with my Dad.

Your online inquires come to me, and I am excited to meet you and introduce you to our wonderful school. Please don't hesitate to learn more!
